Not a breach of etiquette at all...HOWEVER..

it would be most helpful (the primary purpose of this forum, by the way) that you tell us how you used the camera, what type of maintenance regime the camera was under.

There really is no right or wrong answer. For every person who wants to know the camera whether the camera has been recently serviced, there's another looking for a camera with little use.

For every camera that has been used on a feature, there is another camera that has been used minimally. The idea is to match your camera with the ideal home.
